Komatsu Europe launches new WA700-8 wheeled loader

Komatsu has introduced the WA700-8 wheeled loader to the European market after more than a decade of development.

Komatsu says that the model features increased engine power and torque, a cooling system, and reduced hydraulic losses, which contributes to faster cycle times and fuel efficiency.

Additionally, to improve productivity and operator comfort during V-shape loading, the WA700-8 is equipped with a throttle lock and RPM set function. The WA700-8 is powered by a 578 kW Komatsu engine.

The WA700-8 fully complies with EU Stage V emissions regulations and can be filled with B20 biodiesel. It is also 100% compatible with paraffinic fuels like Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO).

Standard safety features include emergency push buttons, certified anchorage and tie-down points, as well as battery, starter, and hydraulic lockouts.

The cabin is said to be ergonomically designed for comfortable operation and features such as a trainer seat allow for side-by-side coaching with the addition of an advanced joystick steering system and electronic pilot control levers.

Automation features, including an automatic digging system, semi-automatic approach, and semi-auto dump systems, are said to simplify repetitive tasks. The company highlights that these technologies assist operators in optimising load cycles and reducing fatigue, making them particularly beneficial for less experienced operators.

Integration with Smart Quarry Site provides site managers with visualisations of production and real-time insights into machine movement, usage, and output.

“I’m very excited to introduce our WA700-8 in Europe, which offers a perfect match with our 60-tonne rigid dump truck,” said Jo Monsieur, deputy general manager product marketing at Komatsu Europe.

“After more than a decade of development, this reinvented giant is now fully ready to claim its place in quarries across Europe and beyond.”

The WA700-8 can be seen in a live demo at Bauma 2025, located outside Hall C6.
