Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has introduced the first models in its new generation wheel loader range, engineered for optimal productivity, comfort and safety.
The new line-up of L150, L180, L200 High Lift, L220 and L260 wheel loaders, featuring a fresh new design and intelligent solutions, is being gradually introduced across select markets globally during 2025.
“Our new generation wheel loaders represent a significant leap forward,” said Alexis Delatolas, Global Product Manager for Wheel Loaders at Volvo CE. “We’re not just enhancing productivity and comfort, we’re also setting new standards for innovation and efficiency in the industry.”
Fuel-efficient wheel loaders with advanced hydraulics
New generation load-sensing hydraulics enable faster cycle times with improved boom and attachment responsiveness. Automatic bucket levelling and Auto Bucket Fill features boost pass efficiency. At startup, Smart Control defaults to fuel-efficient mode without compromising output, and all models support HVO (Hydro-treated Vegetable Oil) fuels.
An entirely Volvo powertrain synchronizes transmission between the engine and axles for optimal stability and efficiency. Increased torque improves performance at low speeds, while reduced gear step intervals improve acceleration. Volvo’s OptiShift and Reverse by Braking (RBB) technologies cut cycle times and extend component life.
Volvo Torque Parallel (TP) linkage delivers high breakout torque and ultimate parallel movement across the lifting range, while a wide range of buckets and attachments adds flexibility.
Quiet, comfortable cab puts operator wellbeing first
The introduction of Volvo Co-Pilot provides intuitive control of media, cameras, climate, and machine status while a dynamic instrument cluster sits in front of the steering wheel. Interior upgrades include new armrests, USB points, enhanced storage, and seat options, including premium seats with heating and cooling. Optional Comfort Drive Control (CDC) enables ergonomic one-lever steering to reduce operator fatigue.
Simplified service and built-in safety
A tilting cab, work light beneath the grill, and brake wear indicators speed up servicing and maintenance. A new service platform and external harness anchor points improve safety for cleaning and routine checks.
Optional Volvo Smart View provides a 360° view via the Volvo Co-Pilot display, while the updated Collision Mitigation System alerts operators to obstacles at reversing speeds as low as 0.5kmph. Orange handrails and steps, automatic door opening, enhanced lighting, and a grille-integrated reversing beacon further improve site safety.
Smarter job sites with digital tools
With digital solutions like Load Assist with On-Board Weighting, Operator Coaching, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Site Operations, Care Track and the new Load Ticket, customers can get even more out of their machines.
