The new project is part of the larger Andermatt Reuss development — a CHF 2 billion (€2.1 billion) development project in the Swiss Alps that’s transforming a former military village into a year-round destination.

Over the coming years, the client aims to create attractive living spaces in the emerging holiday region of Andermatt as part of its Prime Alpine Destination vision.

The hotel will feature solid construction with a wooden unitised facade and roof truss. It will include 66 rooms, several restaurants and bars, 164 apartments, and spa and fitness area.

To enhance sustainability, Impelnia says that the new development will utilise district heating and a groundwater-based cooling system. Additionally, photovoltaic cells integrated into the facade will supply a significant portion of the electricity needed.

Construction is set to begin in spring 2025, with completion planned for November 2027.

Jens Vollmar, Head Division Buildings at Implenia, says, “We would like to thank our clients for the trust they have placed in Implenia. We look forward to working with them on these demanding projects and leveraging our many years of experience and extensive know-how in the planning and construction of large, specialised, sustainable buildings.”
