Noida International Airport was developed through a public-private partnership between the Uttar Pradesh government and Swiss firm Zurich AG.

Delhi-NCR is reported to be the world’s second-largest connected urban area after Tokyo and, according to UN projections, it will surpass Tokyo in the next four years.

The project is a 74:26 joint venture between Adani Airport Holdings Ltd and City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra. The airport is being built in five phases, with the launch phase expected to accommodate 20 million passengers per annum.

Flight operations at Noida International Airport will begin within 45 days of inauguration. The first phase of the airport, with one runway and one terminal, will have the capacity to handle traffic of 12 million passengers annually.

After the completion of the fourth phase, NIA will have the capacity to manage 70 million passengers per year. The cost of the project is reported to be over US$2 billion.

The Navi Mumbai International Airport is spread over 1,160 hectares and, once fully operational, the airport will have four terminals.

Currently, the Indian aviation sector is experiencing significant growth, making it one of the fastest-growing aviation markets in the world and a strong sector for the Indian construction industry.
