New software for refurbishment projects

Premium Content

French IT company Avis Locataire will display at Intermat software to help contractors and developers manage relationships with residents during the refurbishment of buildings, a task that is notoriously time-consuming and complex.

Based in Paris near the Gare du Nord station, Avis works with contractors such as Bouygues, Eiffage and Vinci, as well as building owners, and is seeing its business grow rapidly.

Marc Laurent, the company’s founder and CEO, told Construction Europe that its software – provided on a software as a service (SAAS) model – helps manage the interactions with building residents, whether they are rental occupiers or homeowners.

The software can also be used to help manage sub-contractor interactions with residents.

Laurent said this was something that might have been done in the past by the building owners, or housing associations, but is increasingly being outsourced to contractors. It is also a growth area, with the EU’s ‘renovation wave’ being a key initiative for the coming years.

It will be the first time that Avis has exhibited at Intermat and reflects the ambitions of the company.

It is growing at an annual rate of 60%, said Laurent, and now employs 25 people, half of whom are IT specialists. He says he wants to expand into other European markets, including Germany and the UK.
