The latest in a series of tourism projects announced for the special economic zone of Neom in Saudi Arabia will see the construction of a futuristic-looking 250-room resort, bridging a lagoon on the Gulf of Aqaba.
Neom’s directors unveiled plans for the resort, called Treyam, yesterday (20 March).
It will be located across the opening of a lagoon on the southern end of the Gulf of Aqaba and promises “bridge-like architecture” to connect the northern and southern shores.
The upper and lower floors of the bridge will offer panoramic view of the lagoon, while there will also be a 450-metre-long rooftop infinity pool 36 metres above the sea.
Treyam will be a short distance from The Line, the much-publicised linear city in Neom, for which construction has now started. If built in its entirety, The Line promises to be 170km long, stretching from the Red Sea to the city of Tabuk.
The latest resort to be announced follows the unveiling of projects across the Gulf of Aqaba, including Leyja, Epicon, Siranna, Utamo, Norlana, Aquellum, Zardun, Xaynor, Elanan and Gidori.
