The OEM added that it will also be the first time that the machines have been exhibited in Europe. Both machines are currently under development.

“As one of our initiatives towards achieving carbon neutrality, we are developing various carbon-neutrality-compatible machines, such as electric excavators and fuel cell excavators, so that customers can make the best choice according to the needs of the times and their own on-site environment,” said the company in a press release.

Kobelco added that the battery-powered electric excavators are characterised by their ability to maneuver in tight spaces on urban sites, high per-charge capacity, and a performance comparable to diesel excavators.

At Bauma 2025 the OEM will also perform a live demonstration of K-DIVE, an advanced remote operation system for construction sites. Excavators in Denmark and Japan will be operated remotely from a specialised cockpit at Bauma.
