The headline news among equipment manufacturers this week was the deal by JLG’s owner Oshkosh to acquire Spanish compact equipment specialist Ausa.
One of the most popular stories of the week was news that Italian contractor Webuild and its US subsidiary Lane have presented a design for a new cable-stayed bridge to replace the collapsed Francis Scott Key bridge in Baltimore.
Webuild is offering a proposal for the design and planning of reconstruction of the bridge on a pro bono basis. Take a look at its proposed designs here.
Meanwhile, there were changes at the top of two major construction companies in Europe.
French giant Vinci appointed a new chief operating officer as the first step in the succession plan of CEO Xavier Huillard. And Mace unveiled a new CEO as part of plans to double the scale of its global Consult business.
