Bauma Munich 2025: Outdoor setup begins with show six months out

The organisers of Bauma Munich, Messe München, have announced that some exhibitors, such as Liebherr, Peri and Wirtgen started to set up their outdoor booths in October, around six months before the start of the event.

The world’s largest trade fair will be held in Munich, Germany, from April 7 to 13, 2025.

Messe Muchen also revealed that around 150 new exhibitors will be at Bauma 2025.

Nicole Schmitt, exhibition director of Bauma, says. “We are very pleased with the overall positive feedback from the industry. We are now awaiting the registrations of the joint stand exhibitors until December. But I can already say that we are on the right track on the exhibitor side.”

Bauma will address five key topics: climate neutrality, alternative drive concepts, networked construction, sustainable construction and mining challenge.

Eleven research institutions will present innovative projects at the bauma Science Hub. Among other things, the Technical University of Munich will present autonomous solutions for bulk goods transportation and a paving robot.

The University of Duisburg-Essen will demonstrate a cable robot for precise use on construction sites, and the Technical University of Dresden will present ways to avoid accidents by using a mobile excavator that can recognise human beings.

Bauma Munich VR experience

The show will have a virtual reality (VR) Experience Zone 2025, a partnership between the Construction Future Lab (CFLab) and Messe München. The interactive exhibition will combine a museum-like character with technology and shed light on key future topics in the construction industry.

Interested visitors will be able to experience demonstrations on such topics as construction robotics, alternative drive technologies, additive processes and the digitalisation of machines and interfaces. The offer is supplemented by expert interviews and multimedia content. Messe München says that the experience will provide visitors with comprehensive and practical insights into innovations in the industry and bring future-relevant developments to life.
