France-based rental association DLR has announced its participation in European Rental Week 2024.

Taking place Oct. 14-20, 2024, European Rental Week is dedicated to the promotion of rental across Europe and will see a number of organisations take part under the theme of “Working in Rental for a Sustainable Future.”

For its part, DLR said that it will promote the European Rental Association’s (ERA) social media challenge, which encourages employees to showcase what working in the equipment rental industry is like.

It is also designed to highlight the rewarding aspects of working in the sector and encourage young people to explore careers in this field.

To take part, employees of rental companies are encouraged to take short videos based on popular social media trends, which will then be shared on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube. Videos can be uploaded until October 20.

The three trends are “We work in rental, of course we...”;  “Come to work with me”/”Day in the life”; and “Things I would never do”

How does the challenge work?

Find participants: Companies should send the challenge brief to their employees, with step-by-step instructions on how they can participate.

Record videos: Employees are encouraged to create short videos showcasing their experiences, using the official hashtags to maximize the challenge’s reach.

Share the content: The videos can be shared from personal accounts or the company’s main accounts by October 20.

DLR said it will share videos sent to them via [email protected] on their platforms.

At the same time, the ERA is to host a webinar on October 14 that will focus on sustainability within the equipment rental sector.

The webinar will be opened by Arne Severin, CEO of Zeppelin Rental, who will look at how the industry is evolving to meet the demands of the market.

Martin Seban, director of MidMarket Strategy at KPMG, will then look at the numbers behind the size and growth of the rental industry in Europe before presenting the 2024 ERA Market Report.

The event will also feature a panel discussion featuring Juergen Kuespert, Managing Director at the German rental association bbi, Dr. Markus Heidak, Senior CSR Manager at Zeppelin Rental and Rabia Aktas Ozdemir, Communications Manager at ERA.
