Develon has launched the DX270WMH-7, a new wheeled material handler designed for recycling, demolition, timber and scrap applications, in Europe and North America.

Powered by the company’s six-cylinder DL06V diesel engine, the 27-tonne machine delivers 141 kW at 1,900 rpm. It incorporates a redesigned undercarriage, arm and boom, counterweight and elevating cab, which the manufacturer says improves stability, reach and visibility.

The cab can now be elevated to 2603mm, with structural reinforcements for smoother operation and added protection for hoses and greasing lines. A new design also speeds up elevation, while safety valves inside and outside the cab enable emergency descent.

The DX270WMH-7 offers straight, gooseneck and long gooseneck arm options, with the straight arm supplied as standard. The machine features Develon’s Smart Power Control system, which adjusts engine speed and pump torque to improve fuel efficiency without reducing output.

Operator aids include a redesigned cab interior with an 8-inch gauge panel, ergonomic joysticks and steering wheel, and a virtual wall system that allows boundaries to be set to avoid collisions with obstacles or overhead structures.

Develon, formerly Doosan Construction Equipment, said the model builds on its experience in material handling equipment, with a wider wheelbase, individually controlled stabilisers and a reversing fan (helping to maintain optimal engine temperatures by automatically clearing dust and debris from the cooling system) fitted as standard.
