K36L-5 truck-mounted pump has ‘smart’ 5-sectioned boom for ease of use in tight spaces

Cifa’s K36L-5 truck-mounted concrete pump

Italian truck-mounted concrete pump specialist Cifa has unveiled the new K36L-5 pump, with five sections on its 36m-long boom.

The company says the new pump - released with the slogan, ‘5 arms like never before’ - combines an “innovative base frame and flexible boom” and is unique in the 30 to 40m segment.

Among its new features, the unfolding and manipulation of the pump’s boom is made easier with the introduction of a 360-degree rotation joint on the final section, allowing for its use in tight spaces, or by less experienced operators.

The machine has a 500kg payload, within 26 tonnes on a 6x4 truck with a wheelbase of 4.2m and a total length of 10.2m. The pump can also be mounted on a 3-axle chassis with a wheelbase as short as 4m.

With ACS (advanced stability control – part of the company’s Smatronic Gold control system), the stability of the machine is continuously monitored, while the maximum reach of the boom can be predicted in any shortrigging configuration. When using the system, the boom is first slowed and then stopped, before a critical stability configuration is reached.

Additionally, the pump features the MBE function, which determines the maximum distance that can be reached with the boom, with the stabilisation partially opened, before allowing the boom to be opened.

The linear stabilisation on the rear also makes complex placements possible, taking up significantly less room than rear swing-out outriggers.

Marco Polastri, sales, aftersales & marketing director at Cifa, said, “K36L-5 was designed by CIFA to be the perfect concrete pump for every jobsite – especially the tightest ones – and for every operator, even the least experienced ones.

“It is the answer to the operational needs of workers and companies in the industry, where ease of use of a vehicle and the resulting savings in time have become two essential aspects. This new product is part of a CIFA strategy that aims at streamlining the product offerings as a result of the new needs of the construction site.”
