The collaboration aims to expand the availability of advanced excavator technology solutions across the EMEA regions and additional global markets.

“Strategic cooperation with Vemcon will enable us to offer contractors a more comprehensive excavator technology solution,” said Murray Lodge, executive vice president at Topcon.

“By integrating our technologies, we will provide customers with a clear advancement pathway from 2D to 3D systems while safeguarding their existing investments in smart attachments.”

Jan Rotard, CEO of Vemcon, added, “With Vemcon’s 2D system already installed, upgrading to Topcon’s 3D control is both quick and cost-effective — the sensors are in place, and the machine is calibrated. This allows contractors to gradually scale their digital capabilities, project by project, without being locked into a single solution.”

“Our platform integrates tool recognition, quick coupler control, and assistance features like 2D and scale, and it’s designed to be 3D-ready,” said Dr. Holger Quast, COO of Vemcon. “Together with Topcon, we offer OEMs a smart, modular control stack that simplifies integration and opens the door to MiC 4.0.”

The collaboration is also said to present opportunities for data integration between the two companies’ systems, paving the way for future cloud-based solutions. Topcon says that the capability for data exchange may provide contractors with enhanced insights into machine performance and project progress.

Both companies are exploring opportunities to expand their availability in additional markets.
