US Army Engineers building tank warehouses for Kuwait Army

The nearly US$40-million initiative will construct five “multi-functional” warehouses at brigade site, some of which will house Abrams tanks.

Leading the effort is USACE Kuwait Project Management Office project engineer Alaa Jafar. She said, “This project involves the construction of five new pre-engineered metal building system warehouses.

“Each warehouse is designed to house 44 Abrams M1A2K tanks and 4M88 recovery vehicles, providing state-of-the-art facilities to support the 35th Brigade’s mission readiness.”

Each facility will span about 7,800m².

Awards for the work were announced last June, with Kuwait-based Alghanim International General Trading and Contracting Company receiving a fixed-price contract for construction worth $39,993,492.52.

A groundbreaking was held in late January.

Construction is expected to finish before June of 2026.
