The company said that Persson would take on new challenges outside of Skanska, having been a member of its group leadership team since 2018.

A recruitment process is now underway to appoint a successor and he will stay on until they are appointed.

Anders Danielsson, president and CEO of Skanska Group, said, “I want to thank Magnus for his significant work and contribution to the development of the Skanska we see today. He has played a central role in developing and implementing the strategy that we launched in 2018 to increase profitability in all business areas. His deep knowledge of financial markets, leadership skills and drive, has added tremendous value to the company. I wish him all the best in the future.”

Persson said, “Skanska has been my employer for 18 years. I am incredibly thankful but also proud over what we have achieved together. The last 6 years my focus has been, together with the Group Leadership Team to develop and implement a strategy that creates values for both society and shareholders. We can now see the result and I am confident that the company is well positioned for the future. Skanska is about the people and I am immensely thankful for the colleagues with whom I have had the privilege to work and get to know though my years with the company.”
