Expanded PDA Testing Capabilities

The Pile Driving Analyzer® (PDA) system is the most widely employed system for Dynamic Load Testing and Pile Driving Monitoring in the world. High Strain Dynamic Load Tests, referred to PDA tests, assess the capacity of several piles in a single day.

Pile Driving Analyzer systems also evaluate shaft integrity, driving stresses, and hammer energy when monitoring installation.

A testing firm can expand the breadth of services offered to their clients without investing in multiple high-cost systems with the PDA’s add-on capabilities such as dynamic load testing and/or standard penetration testing.

By expanding the capabilities of the Pile Driving Analyzer, more testing can be completed using an existing PDA system to help simplify and streamline onsite equipment.

The PDA-DLT Software Add-On allows for dynamic load testing of drilled excavations. This expansion allows for monitoring of high strain dynamic load tests on drilled concrete shafts and bored piles using a drop weight system and/or top force transducer.

This system allows for post-installation assessments of piles to assess capacity, foundation movement, and toe responses. It also can be used to identify pile capacity when integrity tests find anomalies.

The SPT Software Add-On performs Standard Penetration Testing for drill rigs. The expanded features can measure the energy transferred into an instrumented SPT rod during a Standard Penetration Test (SPT).

With the addition of waterproof sensors and cables, the PDA-8G can monitor dynamic load testing for projects in wet environments including typical offshore projects and shallow water projects.
