The large milling machines of the XF-series offer a wide range of applications, from surface course rehabilitation through complete removal to fine milling applications. The Mill Assist machine control system and the Wirtgen Performance Tracker Milling are available for all machines.
The W 210 XF combines high performance with compact dimensions for milling widths between 2.0 m (6 ft 7 in) and 2.5 m (8 ft 2 in). The 580 kW (778 hp) John Deere engine has a torque curve that has been specifically adapted to the requirements of cold milling. Combined with the Dual-Shift powershift transmission, a very wide milling drum speed range can be used which leads to high efficiency.

Even more power comes with the large milling machine W 220 XF. The Multiple Cutting System allows milling drums and milling drum units to be changed quickly for milling widths between 2.2 m (7 ft 3 in) and 3.8 m (12 ft 6 in). The maximum power of 627 kW (841 hp) is available from 1,500 min-1. The robust high-performance cold milling machine is also equipped with the Dual-Shift powershift transmission.
This allows the optimum use of high torque at low engine speeds for optimal milling performance. Digital assistance systems increase sustainability.
Maximum productivity is what users get with the W 250 XF. The dual engine concept with two 18 l (1100 in3) John Deere engines enables a maximum power of 900 kW (1207 hp), making it the most powerful milling machine on the market. Here too, the engines are controlled via Mill Assist. In automatic mode, the system automatically selects the operating strategy with the most favorable balance between milling performance and operating costs. The result is a high milling performance with low specific CO2 emissions, reduced water consumption and pick wear.
