Cross Hole Analyzer (CHAMP-Q™)

Pile Dynamics’ Cross Hole Analyzer evaluates the quality of concrete in deep foundations with the crosshole sonic logging (CSL) method.

Once the shaft is prepared with steel or pvc tubes, the transceivers are lowered into the access tubes while emitting a high frequency signal.

The signal travels through the concrete and is detected by the other probes which act as receivers.  

The Cross Hole Analyzer (CHAMP-Q) not only meets the specifications of crosshole sonic logging, it includes user focused features for ease of use.

The CHAMP-Q allows for four probes to be pulled at once, scanning 6 profiles in one pass. As the data is collected, it can be viewed and assessed on site with the durable main unit. 


The probes are connected to color-coded wires, which allow for easy identification during analysis.

Data can be assessed within the main unit during testing or can be further analyzed in CHA-W Data Processing Software.

The CHA-W software offers simplified analysis with first arrival time (FAT) detection, sonic mapping which displays signal strength versus time and depth in a traditional waterfall diagram, and can create wave-speed plots and tables.

For superior tomographic results of questionable areas, the PDI-Tomo add-on software can be implemented.
