Denmark-based Trackunit has launched its new emissions reporting software for fleet owners.

The company said the software means fleet owners can accurately track C02 emissions, monitor and take near real-time action on emissions and offers them a powerful tool to meet CO2 targets and secure contracts with demanding sustainability criteria.

The software works by utilising synthesized machine metadata and individual equipment profiling to enable total fleet emissions reporting for off-highway machines and equipment.

It can be used on any type of off-highway machine and provides users a display of emissions from all connected equipment enabling easy tracking and, where necessary, almost instantaneous action to reduce emissions through the value chain

Lærke Ullerup, Trackunit’s chief marketing and product manager said, “Construction is complex and that has made it difficult for the industry to get really accurate figures on emissions.

The solution and data model is uniquely able to include all equipment, connected and non-connected, using machine learning and the vast data pool to deliver emissions reporting with high accuracy. Effectively, it means no machine will be left behind.

Ullerup added that the software “puts users ahead of the game in a regulatory environment that is only moving in one direction in line with net-zero global targets” and is a “critical addition to any construction company’s kit to develop their business, build profitability and contribute to a greener industry.”

Meanwhile, Trackunit said the solution, which has been designed to resemble similar systems in the automotive industry, will enable smarter deployment decisions to avoid the under-utilisation of machinery and ensure fleets are in line for tax-saving benefits where local authorities incentivise better tracking.
