Yanmar restructures in Europe

Yanmar Europe is restructuring its construction and compact equipment business, with the French and German subsidiaries coming under one organisation from 1 April.

With sales offices in Bezannes, France, Yanmar Compact Equipment will be responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution of the compact equipment machines of Yanmar and the affiliated Schaeff brand.

The products will be produced in Yanmar’s factories in Saint-Dizier, France, Crailsheim, Germany, and Fukuoka, Japan, for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) market.

From April, a new managing director will be appointed to lead the new organisation.

In the restructuring, Andreas Hactergal will be responsible for sales and marketing activities. He will be overseeing the Yanmar compact equipment sales and marketing team, and will manage the dealer network for the EMEA region.

Yanmar said the restructuring would enable it to expand the sales of its Yanmar and Schaeff brands through its sales and service network in Europe, and strengthen its product portfolio to fulfil customer needs better.

Hactergal said, “Continuing to strengthen Yanmar’s position on the small and medium-sized construction equipment market in Europe will be our main challenge for the coming years.

“Yanmar is today resolutely positioning itself as a compact equipment specialist, offering a complete range of machines including mini and midi excavators, wheeled excavators, wheeled loaders and dumpers. We will be concentrating our efforts to accelerate Yanmar Compact Equipment developments, building on our high-quality products and services.”

Yanmar was founded in Osaka, Japan, in 1912. It has seven main businesses – compact engines, large engines, agricultural machinery and equipment, construction machinery, energy systems, marine, machine tools, and components.
