The KHL event, supported by Topcon Positioning Systems, will also investigate wider questions on the state of construction’s digital transformation, with panellists from Topcon, Vinci Construction and Willemen Infra.

The webinar will look at how machine control is being used now, what factors are holding back greater adoption and whether or not it offers a strong return on investment.

The event will reference new data from Topcon’s original report, The Future of Machine Control, which polled 1,000 construction decision makers across Europe.

The case for machine control

Two contractor panellists will describe real-world case studies, describing how the technology is being used to improve productivity, reduce rework and make projects both more profitable and more sustainable.

One of the panellists, Willemen Infra’s Frank Christianen, said, “Machine control has already been transformational for the industry, but it has potential to do even more, relieving the pressure exerted by the skills gap and gearing up the industry for a more productive future.”

Another speaker, Vinci Construction’s Jean-Luc Durand, said, “Our industry now has a laser focus on efficiency, motived by the need to keep costs and carbon footprints down, and this is a major force behind the increasing use of digital technology.”
