Visitor levels at Bauma China exceed expectations

The 4th Bauma China construction equipment exhibition, which is being held in Shanghai, China (25 to 28 November), has got off to a fantastic start with the number of visitors on the first day exceeding all expectations, according to the organisers.

An estimated 37000-plus people have passed through the entrance gates to see 1500-plus exhibitors from 30 countries on the show's 210000 m2 site.

The show's organisers described the level of interest in the show as "unprecedented", while demand for exhibition space, which has grown by +40% since the show was last held in 2006, has also been high.

Held every two years at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), Shanghai, China, the first event was in 2002. In 2006 about 80000 people visited the show.

The show is organised by Munich Trade Fairs International Group, Munich Trade Fairs (Shanghai), CCMA (China Construction Machinery Association) CCPIT-MSC (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade - Machinery Sub-Council) and CNCMC (China Construction Machinery).

International partners include Germany's VDMA (Construction Equipment and Building Material Machinery Association), CECE (European Committee for Construction Equipment, Japan's CEMA (Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association) and JCMA (Japan Construction Mechanization Association) as well as Korea's KOCEMA (Korean Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association).

KHL Group, publisher of International Cranes and Specialized Transport, American Cranes & Transport, American Lift & Handlers, International Rental News,Access International, Construction Europe, Demolition & Recycling International, International Construction, International Construction China and International Construction Turkey is at the show and will be posting the the latest breaking news throughout.
