French construction giant Vinci has won a deal to acquire land and then build and operate 106 charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) across Germany.

The Germany Ministry for Digital and Transport has awarded Vinci Concessions three contracts to develop the ultra-fast (400kW power rating) charging stations. Their development represents total investment in excess of €200 million.

In total, it will see the installation of 828 invidual chaging points. Vinci Concessions, through its EV charging infrastructure specialist in Germany, called Eliso, will acquire the land, install the stations and operate them for 12 years.

The first station is set to open in 2024.

Vinci Concessions will employ its subsidiary Omexom in Germany (part of Vinci Energies) for electrical works, including the installation of charging stations.
