Vinci subsidiaries and divisions have signed two large rail contracts in recent days worth more than €265 million (US$ 365 million).

Taylor Woodrow, a division of Vinci Construction UK, has been awarded a £98 million (€115 million, US$ 160 million) contract to design and build 13 stations and one accommodation block along the western section of the Crossrail development in London.

Crossrail is a new, high and capacity railway for London and the South East. Work will start immediately for a completion date in 2018.

Subsidiaries of Vinci are already undertaking significant works for Crossrail across London including: construction of the Liverpool Street and Whitechapel Crossrail station tunnels and associated works, the demolition and consequent construction of a new station for Whitechapel, and the upgrade of Tottenham Court Road Tube station.
