Vinci lands € 1 billion concession

The Granvia Consortium, comprising Vinci Concessions and private equity fund AA Highway, has won the € 1 billion public private partnership contract for the R1 highway in Slovakia. Construction of the 52 km of 2 x 2 expressway will see the cities of Nitra and Tekovské linked, and a by-pass built around the city of Banská Bystrica.

The contract spans a 30-year design construction, operation and maintenance period, under which the consortium will be remunerated by royalty payments from the Slovak Ministry of Transport.

Construction is expected to take four years. This work, valued at € 900 million will be carried out by Granvia Construction a subsidiary of the Vinci Group's Czech subsidiary Stavby Silnic a Zeleznic (SSZ).
