Gammon Construction, Balfour Beatty's Hong Kong joint venture company, has been awarded a KH$ 6.2 billion (US$ 802 million) contract for a new development at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).

UK-based Balfour Beatty owns a 50% stake in Gammon Construction, while Asian trading and manufacturing group Jardine Matheson holds the other half.

Gammon Construction will build the new Midfield Concourse in the central area of the airport, complete with 19 aircraft stands, fixed link bridges and associated transport links.

Scheduled for completion in September 2015, the project represents Gammon Construction's latest contribution to the airport's development which has included the building of Cathay Pacific Air Cargo Terminal, the SkyPier ferry terminal, North Satellite Concourse and DHL Central Asia Hub.
