Ukraine Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has hit back at critics over the speed of construction of infrastructure and stadiums for the UEFA European Football Championships in 2012 that will be jointly hosted by Ukraine and Poland.

Speaking on a visit to the new airport at Kharkiv in Ukraine, Mrs Tymoshenko said, "I can tell those who have hesitations about Ukraine being ready for Euro 2012 that they should visit Kharkiv, Donetsk and Kyiv and see the pace of construction. Ukraine will be ready for the Championships earlier than expected," she declared.
