Trimble unveils new platform for construction material procurement and management

Trimble has launched Trimble Materials, a software solution for purchasing, inventory management, and accounts payable.

The tool is designed to help contractors better manage material costs by providing enhanced tracking for budgets and inventory. The solution connects office personnel, field teams, warehouse staff, and suppliers through both office and mobile applications, streamlining the entire purchasing and materials management process.
“Managing numerous material orders from various suppliers amidst fluctuating prices and availability poses significant challenges in the construction sector,” stated Lawrence Smith, vice president and general manager of construction management solutions at Trimble.
“Trimble Materials provides a unified solution by integrating material ordering, inventory management, and accounting. This is especially valuable in light of potential changes in tariff policy. By digitising these processes, contractors can mitigate risks, control costs, and gain a competitive advantage in a changing economic environment.”
Trimble Materials integrates with Trimble ERP solutions, including Viewpoint, Spectrum and Viewpoint Vista.
Trimble says that field users can search for and request materials, view inventory, record received items, and communicate with the office. Meanwhile, office users - such as project managers and purchasing teams - can control, approve, and process orders, view inventory, generate RFQs, compare quotes, and reconcile invoices.
