Length of first drive: Union Square Station to Burjuman Station, 1456 m, including passing under the Creek, with about 10 to 13 m cover to Creek bed and 22 m below Creek sea level

Lining: pre-cast bolted segmental lining, 400 mm thick, with ring taper

Geology: marine sand, overlying cemented sand and Sandstones

Water table: typically 3 to 4 m below ground level
