Terex Construction has signed an agreement to supply Takeuchi Manufacturing (US) with eight skid steer models. The agreement covers North America only.

The deal will give excavator specialist Takeuchi a wide range of vertical and radial lift skid steers to complement its existing line of compact equipment, which includes tracked loaders, excavators and wheel loaders.

Terex said that Takeuchi’s existing distribution channels will handle sales, rental and parts supply and customer support for the loaders.

Clay Eubanks, president of Takeuchi US said: “After an extensive review process, we selected Terex to supply us with these new skid steer loaders ranging in operating weight from 6500 lb to 8600 lb, and rated operating capacity ranges from 1500 lb to 3000 lb. We will support our customer’s parts and service needs in the same way as we do our other products today.”

Dean Barley, vice president and general manager, Terex Construction Americas and Global Aftermarket, said the agreement represented a great opportunity to leverage its manufacturing operation in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and drive operational efficiencies.

This is the latest in a number of manufacturing agreements that Terex has signed in recent years. Terex Construction already supplies mini-excavators in parts of Europe through an agreement with Italian manufacturer Sampierana, and Terex Aerial Work Platforms is partnering with Manitou in the marketing of certain aerial platform models.
