Strabag in energy order

04 June 2009

A Strabag and H S Energieanlagen consortium has been awarded a € 42 million contract to construct the first phase of the Reststoffheizkraftwerk waste to energy plant in Linz, Austria.

The contract is for the delivery of a fluidised bed stream generator and ancillary equipment for the 66 MW capacity facility that will generate heat and electricity for the grids of Linz when it comes on line in the autumn of 2011.

The facility will thermally treat waste of high calorific value, household waste and dewatered sewage sludge and debris from the nearby wastewater treatment plant at Asten.

Strabag has a 43% share of the project and construction is due to be completed in 2011.
