Sany to introduce telehandlers for Europe

Sany will launch a range of telehandlers for Europe at Bauma.

With their load capacity of 4,000kg to a lifting height of up to 18m, the units will be available to buy from Sany dealers in October and further compact models will join the series during 2023.

Designed with safety in mind, the units include all-round visibility, with a low boom, together with a sloping bonnet and low dashboard, allowing maximum forward visibility area. There is also a rear-view camera with a sensor and visual, as well as acoustic warnings to the driver. To prevent overloading and instability, the weight system and the load management system work together. A safety switch that prevents vehicle movement when the driver is not seated, as well as the lift cylinders with hose rupture check valves, add to the safety package.

The cab, developed in Germany, has an intuitive touchscreen display with encoder control for on-screen navigation. There are also many small details, said the manufacturer, including document pocket on the dashboard, an armrest with an integrated USB connection, cup and bottle holders, and other storage options. Other features,like air conditioning, a radio, a tiltable and telescopic steering column, add to the operator comfort, as well as the LMI light bar for displaying the load capacity.

Sany said the new telehandlers are equipped with components made by European  manufacturers, including Innovatiions, such as boom sections with two welded C-shaped high-strength pressed steel parts. The units have been tested with more than 80,000 damage-free cycles on the boom test rig, said Sany. 

Productivity features

The high-torque engine does not require exhaust gas aftertreatment and therefore does not need expensive AdBlue additives, says the manufacturer. The models’ Dana transmission and axles are matched to ensure maximum power and efficiency.

Costs are designed to be minimised through a stop-start system and long maintenance intervals of 500 operating hours. All maintenance work can be carried out quickly from the ground: the filters for engine oil, hydraulic oil, and fuel are centrally located, the air filter is easily accessible from the engine compartment, and the battery can be reached via a fold-up step under the cab.

With the load-sensing system, which regulates the hydraulic pressure proportionally to the different outputs, the boom can be raised and extended simultaneously, saving time. And the available steering modes – two-wheel, four-wheel and crab steering.
