As managing director Pratt will be based at Sinoboom’s headquarters in Changsha, China, to oversee design, development, range extension, testing, manufacturing and market development of the new product line. The recently announced models include the TH40-14, TH45-18 and the TH50-18R.

Pratt spent the last 22 years at JCB, where he held senior roles, including, most recently, Group Director for Powertrain.

Susan Xu, Group CEO, said, “I am delighted to welcome Ian to the Sinoboom family. Ian brings a wealth of over 30 years industrial experience to Sinoboom, in areas such as product design, manufacturing innovation and market development.

“He ran what is arguably the industry’s single largest telescopic handler business for more than five years, delivering new products, exceptional market growth and state of the art manufacturing facilities, globally. This experience makes Ian the ideal person to join Sinoboom as we begin our journey, with our telescopic handler range.”

Pratt said on his appointment, “I am truly, honoured to be joining Sinoboom at this exciting time in their product development programme and to be able to share my experience and lead the team as we continue the development and delivery of a global range of telescopic handlers.”

Steven Liu, Sinoboom Founder and Chairman said at the preview launch, added, “Part of the Sinoboom strategic plan is to offer a complete range of telescopic handlers, that can be manufactured in our facilities in China, Europe and the Americas.

“Recognising our customers’ needs and the specification of individual markets, products will be launched on a phase basis following a robust new product introduction plan which will includes market specific testing and customer seed units.”
