New Holland adds telescopic reach to its small articulated loaders

New Holland – the US-founded and Italy-based global construction machinery manufacturer – said its small articulated loaders’ (SAL) reach got a bit longer, as the company added telescopic booms to its ML35T and ML50T units.

The company said the booms reach a hinge pin height of about 4.3m (14 ft) for horizontal and vertical reach. The new features were designed to assist operators with lifting at height (including concrete debris) and improve handling in ‘space-limited’ sites.

The machines hit the market at the beginning of June and signal New Holland’s “expansion plan in this category”, the company said.

“Customers and operators will find these new pieces of equipment well-suited for tasks like loading trucks, handling feed or materials, stacking pallets and many others,” said New Holland.

The SALs are equipped with Tier 4 Final/Stage V-certified Kubota engines equipped with a diesel oxidation catalyst and diesel particulate filter.

The ML35T and ML50T run up to 65 horsepower with 146.4 lb.-ft. peak torque at 1,600 rpm and 74 horsepower with 195.4 lb.-ft. peak torque at 1,500 rpm, respectively. Both are equipped with a hydrostatic transmission and are capable of top speeds up to 18.6 mph.

“Durability is at the core of the SAL machine design. With steel plates and reinforced booms, every component is crafted for durability to minimize wear and potential cracking of plastic counterparts as seen on competitor machines,” said New Holland.

The units also feature an ISO standard attachment coupler, roll-over and falling-object protection, and a front-positioned cabin, which the company said ‘makes for a more ergonomic and accessible’ operating experience.

“This configuration enables operators to manoeuvre closer to walls in tight spaces without the risk of collision,” said New Holland.

“The rear articulation design also contributes to greater cab stability with the inclusion of a zero-cab swing, a feature unique to SALs in the New Holland Construction portfolio,” the company added. “The ML50T offers a front oscillation joint that allows the front axle to move up and down independently from the rear axle. This enhances stability by keeping all four wheels in contact with the ground even on uneven terrain, reducing risk of tipping over.”
