Messe Munchen, host of Bauma Munich, the world’s largest construction equipment exhibition, has held an online crisis support meeting for its service partners.

Some 75 companies affected by the postponement and cancellation of events at the venue took part in the video conference. Also in attendance were representatives of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce; LfA Förderbank Bayern, a business development institution; Bürgschaftsbank Bayern, a bank that provides guaranties to businesses; and the German Employment Agency.

The meeting, hosted by a team from Messe Munchen, was held to offer assistance to smaller companies experiencing hardship during this event-free period and looking ahead to a potentially lengthy rescheduling and rebuilding process.

The hosts and associated representatives answered emailed questions put to them by the service partners, who included trade fair construction companies, agencies, handicraft businesses and catering companies, as well as delivery and service firms.

Klaus Dittrich, chairman and CEO of Messe München, said, “Our top priority in this crisis is to assume responsibility as a key economic player and to support our partners until our trade-fair business gets back on its feet.”
