Lemvos launches AutomatePro for outdoor robotics applications

Lemvos, a company specialising in outdoor robotics solutions, has launched AutomatePro, a ‘plug and play’ unit that includes essential components such as positioning, perception, connectivity, sensing, and control.

Designed for the agriculture, mining, construction, and maritime robotics industries, AutomatePro aims to speed up the development of outdoor robotics applications by integrating many critical components into a compact, IP67-rated rugged system.

The components include extensive input/output interfaces, multiple connectivity options, a powerful onboard computer, auxiliary power supplies, precision RTK positioning, and various camera inputs.

The AutomatePro features an all-in-one, ROS2-based controller that simplifies outdoor robotics development by reducing dependence on external subsystems. This is said to minimise complexity, effort, and the risk of potential failure points in the field.

The integrated 5G/4G connectivity allows for remote diagnostics, teleoperation, RTK corrections, and over-the-air software updates.

Furthermore, Lemvos offers a variety of hardware and software tools to support and expedite clients’ outdoor robotics projects.

AutomatePro provides an advanced positioning solution that includes both standalone RTK positioning and RTK differential heading, making it ideal for applications where magnetic bearings may be unreliable.

Phillip Abplanalp, co-founder at Lemvos, said, “Building outdoor robotics involves a complex interplay of hardware and software subsystems that must operate reliably over long periods. With AutomatePro, we simplify this challenge by unifying core components into a single, integrated system, giving developers a solid foundation to build and scale outdoor robotics applications”.
