Togwell is currently Kier’s executive director and group managing director of Kier Construction.

Kier has four operating divisions: Property, Residential, Construction, and Services, all primarily focused on the UK market.

Togwell is a chartered surveyor who began his career as an apprentice surveyor with Wates Group, where he worked for 32 years until 2019 when he joined Kier as the group commercial director. He became the managing director of Kier Construction in December 2022 and joined the group main board in October 2024.

Davies took up the post of chief executive in March 2019 and has been credited with turning round the company’s fortunes, as it was struggling financially.

“I would like to thank Andrew for his exceptional leadership over the last six years, which has transformed Kier. We proudly remain one of the UK’s leading infrastructure services, construction and property groups,” said Kier Group’s board chairman, Matthew Lester.

He added that under Davies’ leadership the company’s order book had grown to a record £11 billion (US$14.8 billion).

The Kier Group is involved in many of the UK’s major infrastructure projects, such as HS2.
