The Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers have appointed a joint venture of Turner Construction and AECOM Hunt to deliver their new $1.5 billion arena in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.
The joint venture, named PACT+, also includes local firms Perryman Construction, Hunter Roberts Construction Group and Camfred Construction.
PACT+ will work with architects Populous and Moody Nolan on what is described as a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment venue, scheduled to open in 2030, coinciding with the launch of a new WNBA team in the city.
David Adelman, chairman of the area partnership between the 76ers and the Flyers, which are teams competing in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and National Hockey League (NHL) respectively, said the project aims to be “the most technologically advanced and fan-focused sports and entertainment venue in the world”.
“This is more than a construction project—it’s a chance to build something that becomes part of Philadelphia’s fabric for generations,” said Dave Kaminski, vice president and senior general manager for Turner.
