25 April 2008
UK-based Richard Rogers Partnership has unveiled the first images of its US$ 1.7 billion expansion of the Jacob K Javits Convention Centre in New York, US.
Co-designed with local architectural practice Fox & Fowle, the project will add 130000 m2 of new exhibition space to the complex, almost doubling its size. A ballroom, loading facilities and a 1500 room hotel will also be added. Work on the first phase of the project is expected to start later this year and is scheduled to finish in 2010.
