Intermat adds New Technology hub for 2021

Next year’s Intermat exhibition in Paris will add ‘New Technologies’ as one of its key focus areas, joining the existing categories of earthmoving/demolition, roads/foundations, lifting/material handling and concrete/building.

The new hub at the show – which takes place in Paris on 19 to 24 April, 2021 - will focus on construction technology, including BIM, IoT and 3D printing. Intermat said the market for such technology has grown by 30% in two years and is now an annual €1.3 billion industry worldwide.

“The sector will bring together the most innovative solutions for and with everyone who is shaping the future of our regions with intelligence: augmented reality, mobile applications, drones, 3D printing, building information modelling (BIM), autonomous vehicles, cloud technology, virtual engineering, Internet of Things”, said Isabelle Alfano, Intermat exhibition director.

“All these new technologies will be highlighted across the show - the start-ups area, exhibitor stands and talks. Our visitors will also have the chance to take a plunge into the heart of the work site of the future, version 4.0, which promotes productivity improvements, cost reductions, energy efficiency, better safety and undeniable competitive advantages.”

Among exhibitors already registered in the new category are Infrakit, Moba, Tenstar Simulation, TP Planning, Track-Unit and Trimble.

The show will again feature World of Concrete Europe (for the third time), a Rental Day, Innovation Awards and a Demo area.

Construction market data issued by Intermat through its Construction Observatory – a service begun in 2018 – will be expanded to 15 countries in Europe, the Middle East (Saudi Arabia) and Africa (Algeria, Ivory Coast, Morocco and Nigeria). There will also be a focus on the top 10 construction projects currently underway in each of the markets.

“Major international projects, the Grand Paris Express construction works, the developments planned in view of the 2024 Paris Olympics and in major metropolitan areas will be placed into the perspective of the machinery and equipment presented at the show”, said Alfano.

Our ambition is to contribute to the efficiency of construction projects in targeted and developing regions and to promote synergies between our exhibitors and foreign decision-makers.”
