Holcim to sell its Nigerian business

Holcim, a global company that specialises in producing building solutions such as aggregates, cement, and concrete, has announced that it has reached an agreement to sell its Nigerian business.

The company has signed an agreement with Huaxin Cement Ltd to sell its entire 83.81% shareholding in Lafarge Africa PLC, at an equity value of US$ 1 billion on a 100% basis.

The transaction is expected to close in 2025, subject to customary and regulatory approvals.

Holcim had sales in 2023 of CHF 27.0 billion (US$30.4 billion) and employs approximately 63,000 employees.
