Hilti collaborated with Ottobock Industrials to design and produce this new skeleton with a more inclusive design that can fit a diverse range of body types, providing additional support and comfort.

Hilti said that the wearable skeleton is lightweight, weighing only 2.4 kg, which allows for freedom of movement.

It can be customised with a neck support for extra relief during overhead tasks. In addition, the company said the EXO-S is easy to adjust with pre-defined small/medium/large steps, making it suitable for different body types and promoting sharing among workers. It also offers comfort for those with a bicep circumference up to 40cm (16”).

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) are a significant cause of health problems in the workplace, says Hilti, accounting for 60% of all workplace health issues in the European Union.
