Strong most recently served as US ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and will now be responsible for advancing Bechtel’s priorities across the two regions. The company said her focus will include strengthening government relationships, supporting ongoing projects and pursuing new business opportunities.
During her diplomatic career, Strong held senior roles across the Middle East and Europe. She was chargé d’affaires at the US embassy in Saudi Arabia and served in postings in Bulgaria, Iraq, Poland, the Czech Republic, Barbados, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and France. Earlier in her career, she worked on the National Security Council at the White House.
Justin Siberell, president of regions and government affairs at Bechtel, said, “Martina’s combination of diplomatic skill and strategic leadership will be vital in advancing Bechtel’s priorities across Central Europe and the Middle East.”
Strong will be based in Bechtel’s London office.
