Simon Purchon, business development director of mobile assets at Babcock International, will speak on the optimisation of heavy mobile fleet performance at this year's CEWEF in Brussels, Belgium.

Mr Purchon has more than 25 years' experience in whole life asset management in both the public and private sectors. His knowledge has helped Babcock to develop its Asset Life Cycle Availability in Engineering (ALCAMiE) system, an asset management system, which is delivering significant benefits in the management of complex fleets.

Babcock is one of the UK's leading engineering support services organisations and is active in the defence, energy, telecommunications, transport and education sectors. It has annual revenues of UK£ 3 billion (US$ 4.7 billion)

It is also supported by the Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE), the European-level trade association for the construction equipment industry.

The conference will feature speakers from major construction equipment manufacturers, end users in the construction sector, major buyers such as rental companies and other key stakeholders.

As well as looking at innovation in the construction equipment sector, and the opportunity for greater commercial advantage for equipment owners through new technology and asset management techniques, the conference will consider other opportunities in the wider industry.
