First installs of new Hydradig safety system complete

GKD Technologies has installed the first of its latest envelope control and rated capacity indicator systems onto JCB Hydradig machines. 

Ten of the new Series 2LHS safety systems were installed on the JCB machines, which were bought by equipment rental company Flannery Plant Hire.

GKD’s equipment safety tech ensures the construction machinery works within a set of parallel or multipoint virtual walls, restricting its movement. The systems provide users with full envelope control, enhancing safety of operation whilst maintaining flexibility all whilst under full motion control.

The Series 2LHS was engineered specifically for JCB Hydradig, an innovative machine incorporating the latest in electro-hydraulic controls for optimum performance.

GKD, which recently attended Futureworx 2022, worked closely with JCB for two years to develop and test the RCI system.

The company said, “We are proud to have developed one of the first RCIs to work with electro-hydraulics, an experience that has facilitated the development of a system that truly integrates with the JCB Hydradig.”

The new Series 2 Hydradig product range can be used for machines working in confined surroundings or close to open traffic lanes, and when combined with height limits for working under overhead obstructions.

The safety tech offers customers up to 36 pre-defined lifting zones that maximise machine productivity and provides users with the most efficient use of the machine in any lifting position.

It also delivers pre-emptive stopping algorithms, with slow down zones for a smoother approach to slew or height limits and a cab protect feature that prevents attachments hitting machine cabs.
