Equipment upgrade

Infrastructure Upgrades and Urban Redevelopment in Ukraine are Placing high demands on aggregate suppliers in the region. The high quality and size of the Ukraine's granite and basalt deposits also offer the country a good potential source for exports. But processing the rock to get the maximum benefits from the resource in terms of value and least waste means that Ukrainian quarry owners are investing new equipment.

Azovintex called on Austrian crushing and screening equipment manufacturer Hartl Powercrusher to find a solution for its Donetsk-based basalt quarry. The quarry's existing stationary plants were failing to meet the company's need in terms of both capacity and quality. Hartl's solution was a mobile system which could produce up to 300 tonnes per hour and reduce the unusable material down to a maximum of 15%.

Azovintex is now using a PC180 J jaw crusher, a PC 1310 I impactor and two HCS 3715 screens. Since the system was put in place the quarry operator has reduced its transport costs and less than 12% of the crushed material is now rejected because of poor shape.
