The Swedish-headquartered company said the move responds to growing demand for hydraulic excavator attachments, including drum cutters, grapples, pulverizers, grabs, and compactors.

As part of the expansion of the locations, both of which are used by Epiroc and its subsidiary Erkat, workforce at the sites have grown by approximately 50%.

Epiroc said a key focus of the expansion is sustainable energy supply, with both facilities powered by solar roofing.

“The decision to expand production capacities in Thuringia highlights our long-term commitment to the region,” said Torsten Ahr, Managing Director of Epiroc’s German production sites.

“The team’s innovative strength and flexibility are decisive factors for our location.”
