Eiffage optimistic for 2013

Eiffage is confident of further growth this year after reporting increases in revenue and net profit for 2012.

Revenues grew 2.6% on a like-for-like basis in 2012 to €14 billion, while net profit was up 7.3% compared to 2011, to €220 million.

The construction division recorded a 0.4% increase in sales to €3.8 billion, buoyed by upbeat activity in France, where revenues were up 4%. In contrast, revenues from its European subsidiaries were down 13%.

Activity also held up well in the property development business, where revenues reached €599 million, up 4.2% year-on-year. Meanwhile, the public works division recorded a 1.3% increase in revenues compared to 2011 to €3.9 billion, the energy division recorded a 2.7% increase to €3.2 billion and the metal division saw sales jump 15% to €900 million.

Revenue contributed by concessions business increased 1.4% last year compared to the year before to €2.2 billion. Eiffage’s overall order book came to €12.2 billion at 1 January, 2013, down 9.7% compared with the same point in 2012.

But the company was optimistic on prospects for this year. Group sales are expected to increase to €14.2 billion in 2013, while growth in net profit and operating profit is also forecast.
