Deep tech to improve on-site safety

The deep-tech startup Tended has launched a new Safety Culture platform, to help reduce unsafe behaviours in the construction workplace.

The company says its new solution works by gathering anonymous employee feedback through science-backed surveys, then measuring results against a matrix and identifies cultural influences that may be driving unsafe behaviours.

Businesses will then be able to identify specific areas where safety interventions may be necessary and, ultimately, reduce on-site accidents.

The platform can also measure an organisation’s existing safety management statistics, against industry standards, to give a clear picture of its health and safety record.

Another facet of the platform is leadership development, with a localised library offering science-backed microlearning content, courses, guides and training materials.

Tended’s CEO and founder, Leo Scott Smith, said, “Safety culture improvements have been proven to lead to an 82% reduction in accidents, however interventions such as training and processes only go so far to improve safety.

“By using behavioural science techniques, our new Safety Culture solution enables companies to uncover and understand the underlying influences of unsafe actions and provides the resources to help them make safety culture improvements that drive safe behaviours. Ultimately promoting a safer workplace and positive employee experience.”
