Crush and go

Guadeloupe-based contractor GET has recently taken delivery of a Rubble Master RM70 mobile crusher to provide crushed rock for the backfilling of trenches following utility pipe installation in the Basse Terre area in the south of the island.

According to GET manager Jean Humbert, the raw material costs, coupled with rising transport costs saw the company decide to bring production in-house.

“We looked at several areas,” said

Mr Humbert. “With the rock being delivered in large blocks, we needed a crusher that could produce a lot of fines, be mobile on tracks, and work directly on site.

The crusher also had to be easily transportable from site to site and provide a minimum output of 60 tonnes/hour. With the RM70 GET is producing as much 0 to 32mm material as it needs, and can even produce fines like 0 to16mm if necessary.”
